The Well and The Mine by Gin Phillips

First novel by this author and it was great. The book is set in the early 1930's in a small Alabama coal mining town. It centers around the mine but also the main character is a young girl who witnesses a baby being thrown in a well. This action shapes her through the next few years. Great story, characters are well written. Highly recommended.
