I'm 50, live in Austin, Texas but am a Northern California native and my heart still belongs there. I spend a lot of my time quilting, cooking, reading and working on my house. I've been keeping track for about ten years of all the books that I read. I had been writing comments but life got in the way and I need to start doing that again.

Hollywood Moon by Joseph Wambaugh

I'm severely behind this year. I finished this book almost a month and a half ago.

Hollywood Moon is a good crime novel. The first book I read by Joseph Wambaugh was written in 1973 and I think I was in high school, 1979ish, when I wanted to read it. My parents didn't want me to, thought it was too violent but I won out. That or I sneaked it in. It was non fiction, an actual account of a horrible murder in the California central valley. It was close to home in a way, I grew up in an agricultural area. It chronicle the murder of two policemen who were kidnapped and tortured in California in the 1960's. Even at 17 or 18 I got hooked on his writing and have read everything since. This book is fiction and a good read.
