I'm 50, live in Austin, Texas but am a Northern California native and my heart still belongs there. I spend a lot of my time quilting, cooking, reading and working on my house. I've been keeping track for about ten years of all the books that I read. I had been writing comments but life got in the way and I need to start doing that again.

The Girl She Use to Be by David Cristofano

I'm on a really good run of books right now. Also behind in posts.

This is a first novel about a girl who was put in the witness protection program at the age of six because she and her parents witnessed a mafia murder. Now a six year old isn't going to remember that she can't remember what her name is when it has just been changed, move number one and name change number two. We catch the story when she is 26 and is moved again, this time for different reasons. It's a great little book, a fictional account of how hard it would be to be alone and unable to make any attachments. Can't wait for his next novel!
