Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahirir
Two days ago I finished Interpreter of Maladies by Jhumpa Lahiri, this is a Pulitzer Prize winning book of short stories. As all of her books, the characters are all of Indian descent. These short stories vary in time but all have rich characters that she can bring to life and you generally get a picture of a time period in their lives. She has written two other books since this was published, Unaccustomed Earth which was another collection of short stories and a novel called The Namesake. She has probably been the author who introduced me to a group of Indian female writers that I have since really enjoyed. She's an amazing talent who bridges the gap in the differences between generations of India families.
